Bristol Old Vic Archive

The archive was built as part of the Consultancy Project module at UWE. In mixed groups of business and technical students we assessed the needs of a public sector client and how we could use technology to improve their day-to-day workings.

The Bristol Old Vic's archiving process consisted loosely of a paper-based system, various word documents and distributed Microsoft Access databases/spreadsheets.

Following discussions with administrative staff we concluded that the clear way forward was to centralise their process. I lead the development of the project building the fully accommodating archive the Bristol Old Vic required, and lead technical discsusion refining features and conducting user testing and evaluating the results. The final deliverable consisted of a fully functional Symfony 1.4 build with accompanying technical and user documentation.
